Okomu National Park is one of the most rewarding sites for both the amateur and the serious ornithologist, in West Africa. Over 200 species have been recorded in Okomu, including rare species such as ANGOLAN PITTA AND ALL THE FOREST HORNBILLS FOUND IN WEST AFRICA.

The Reserve’s relatively undisturbed habitat and the numerous lakes, rivers, streams and swamps mean that it is probably the most accessible and prolific rainforest site in the western part of Africa. The Reserve is regularly visited by top ornithologists from around the globe. Phil Hall will personally advise on international tours to Okomu and other major birding sites in Nigeria.
