Okomu National Park is the home of the white-throated guenon, endemic to the area and on the verge of extinction before the Park was officially declared a National Park in 1999. Today a viable population of white throated guenons as well as several other species of monkey exists in the Park and is regularly seen by visitors.

Forest elephants are rarely seen but their tracks and droppings are regularly found Buffaloes are occasionally spotted from the two tree-houses at Okomu
Bush pig
Civet cat
Maxwell’s duiker
Grass cutter
are all inhabitants of the Park.
